FOOD FOR THOUGHTDear Monument Friends, Volunteers are the heart of Monument Crisis Center. They represent every age, from teens to adults in their 90’s. They come to the Center after school and work. Their service can be a team building opportunity or a faith sharing day. Our volunteers recruit their classmates, colleagues, neighbors, friends, church and family members to become volunteers. Some volunteers are “retired”, but come to the Center wanting to work harder than ever. Some bring their special talents, such as teaching, grant writing, data entry or accounting. Others supply helping hands to bag rice, beans, and potatoes to fill bags and boxes for our clients. There are volunteers who bring their cars, vans, and pick-ups to gather food items from local grocers, coffee houses, farmers markets, and food banks. All bring their hearts, their smiles, and their good wishes to clients, staff, and fellow volunteers day after day. Many are among our faithful donors. |
